Chest-Roller Flatwork Ironer Maintenance Key Method

Chest Ironer How it works

When the chest ironer working, the linen be spread out on the feeding table, on the ironing belt carries it forward, and via the roller ironer padding, feeding into the  into the pre-heated, steam-filled chest, while the roller rotates, its own weight plus steam pressure forces the fabric against the polished chest surface. The resulting friction and relative motion iron the linen; guide tapes keep it aligned for the next roller or the outfeed opening.

At the same time an exhaust fan continuously removes the steam generated inside the roller, so the fabric dries as fast as it is pressed.

The main advantages of chest to roller ironer:

- Good ironing effect, especially on double-layer linen such as pillow-cases and duvet covers.
- High steam-utilisation efficiency compared with rotary ironers.
- Higher purchase price and stricter steam-pressure/temperature requirements.

Major maintenance method to ensure the chest-ironing quality

1. Ironer felt / padding: The functions of ironer felts are moisture absorption, heat insulation, dust prevention, anti-static, and friction prevention. Different steam pressure, steam temperature, steam quality, linen type, and linen moisture content all affect felt consumption. The lifespan and quality of the felt also significantly impact the quality of linen ironing.

2. Waxing: The purpose of waxing is making the ironer chest has a smooth surface, reduce friction, and prevent linen wrinkling. Generally, when ironer working 4 hours should waxing through a wax cloth. High quality wax evaporates without residue, making the felt less susceptible to contamination, Hongkong Xinyun can offer this high quality wax. Low-quality wax has a low melting point and leaves a lot of residue, which can leave dirt after evaporation. The timing, temperature, and frequency of waxing are crucial.

3. Guide tapes: While ironing the guide belt primarily guides linen across the heated rollers and trough surface for efficient transport. After a trough ironing machine completes its work, the rollers are lifted using a pneumatic cylinder or other tool to accelerate heat dissipation from the trough plate. At this point, the guide belt installed at the rear of the ironing machine is tightened on the guide wheel via a guide rod. If the guide belt is obstructed, it can easily cause butterfly patterns or even large curls in the linen during ironing.

4. Water valve: It is a important component of the ironer. Its primary function is to improve heat transfer efficiency, remove condensate, ensure efficient operation, and reduce steam loss. Therefore, the safe and stable use of the steam trap impacts the ironing quality and efficiency of the entire machine.
